AKS did not date her sampler, but it is typical of many small schoolroom samplers made in England during the 19th century. She includes an Upper-Case alphabet, a Lower-Case alphabet, and a set of numerals. She also includes a small saying “A good beginning makes a good ending.” This is a wonderful sentiment to begin this series of Little Reds.

The model is originally stitched in solid red and is charted for DMC816; however, any color, solid or overdyed, may be used. On 32 ct linen, the sampler will measure 6.88 x 3.75 inches.
